David Tennant, better known as "the Doctor" in the BBC television series Doctor Who, is an amazing, fun and quirky actor. He has influenced the acting community with his brilliant theatrical performances on stage and in movies and television series. He has had great success and has been nominated for and won many awards.
David Tennant is a forty-two year old scottish actor who had to change his name from David John McDonald to David Tennant because the actors union already had a registered member with his name. He chose his stage name from the head singer of the Pet Shop Boys, Neil Tennant. Tennant is a fan of Alfred Hitchcock, his favorite actress in Audrey Hepburn, favorite book is "Catcher in the Rye", and his favorite characters in Doctor Who are the Zygons. The three trade marks that he is known for the most are his side burns, raising his eyebrows a lot, and being very, very thin.
He is quoted as saying, "I'm a good person, I hope. But I'm never as good as I want to be, never as nice as I want to be, never as generous as I want to be."
The second artifact is this funny clip from the TV show Dr. Who that highlights some of the funny parts of the show during his five years as The Doctor. I love the whole clip because it is really funny and shows his personality and quirkiness.

This clip is just a mash-up of a bunch of different parts from his time being The Doctor in Doctor Who. This video is a great way of seeing what type of actor David Tennant can be and part of the reason that so many people love him. He was three when he decided to become an actor, the reasoning behind this was so that one day he could become "the Doctor", which he eventually did achieve. Tennant became "the Doctor" in 2005, at the age of about thirty-three, and didn't leave the show until 2010. He was the tenth incarnation of the Doctor and had many companions, Rose Tyler, Martha Jones, Captain Jack Harkness, and Donna Noble.
"I have such fond memories of watching 'Doctor Who' when I was a kid and growing up, that if I've left anybody anywhere with memories as fond, then I feel like I've done my job."~David Tennant
The second picture for the first artifact is a representation of theatre masks because Tennant has always loved acting. Not only does he do TV shows but he performs with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). He's had the lead role of Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, he was Lysander in a Midsummers Night Dream, Hamlet in Hamlet, and most recently he was Richard II in Richard II. He first joined the Royal Shakespeare Company when he was twenty-five and did some plays then left to be a television actor but ended up going back. Now Tennant does a little bit of both.
