Steve Jobs was born February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California. His biological parents put him up for adoption because they were finishing up college and his mom didn't want him. His parents required his new parents be college graduates so that Steve could get a college education as well. However, when the new parents came to adopt him, they figured out they weren't college graduates. Steve's biological mom only agreed to sign the adoption papers when his parents agreed that they would put him through college.
At an early age, Steve's dad, Paul, showed him basic electronics and how to take things apart, fix them, and put them back together. This developed a hobby for him throughout his life. In school, his test scores were so high that they recommended that he skip two grades, but he only skipped one. A neighbor of Steve's, Steve Wozniak, shared the same liking of electronics as jobs. Wozniak however, was the genius of the two and built the computer chips that eventually became the apple computer.
As Apple inc. started to take off, they hired many more employees, including John Sculley from Pepsi Cola. As things developed, Steve was harsh on the company making long meetings, and harsh work days. The board of Apple directors later gave Sculley the authority to remove Steve from all of his roles. Steve was later "fired" and stepped down from his role as chairman. He developed a new company, NeXT computers in which he slowly developed. He also acquired a movie company, later renaming it Pixar.
Years later, Apple bought NeXT and Steve became an Apple employee once again. Many of the NeXT technologies were used in the development of the macintoshes and newly developed iPod.
