This picture is representation of the dynamic duo who are know for the basketball terms, "give'n'go" and the "pick'n'roll". They are John Stockton and Karl Malone. John Stockton was born March 26, 1962 in Spokane, Washington. He played college basketball at Gonzaga University from 1980 to 1984. In 1984 he was drafted in the NBA to the Utah Jazz in the 1st round being the 16th pick overall. He played for the Utah Jazz as point guard for his whole career which lasted from 1984 to 2003. He was only 6 feet 1 inch tall and 175 pounds.
John Stockton is one of the greatest point guards of all time. I chose him because what he did on and off the court and he was true to himself. In his career he stayed loyal to the Utah Jazz by sticking with the team all 19 seasons he played in the NBA. He holds two career records in steels and assists. He also holds records in the most consecutive seasons, games, and consecutive games played with one team. He stuck to the basic fundamentals of the game and at his role that he played for the team. He wasn't a flashy player he just had great IQ for the game of basketball. John Stockton new how to get the ball to whomever to score. He was also a very humble person off the court and he kind of kept to himself and didn't get caught up with the media.

I chose gears for my abstract representation of John Stockton because without one gear or the main gear all other gear wouldn't work. They all have to work together to make everything function right. Relating this to a basketball team, you need five different positions different in height and weight to play a certain role, that is what creates a team. You would need the main unit for the gears or the team and that would be the coach. If one gear wasn't functioning correctly then all other gears would be affected, kind of like a basketball team. If one player was off and not doing good it would sometimes affect others on that players team.
